About the Team:
Clement Kao is a Co-Founder of Product Manager HQ. He is currently a Product Manager at Blend (backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Thrive Capital, Initialized Capital, SV Angel, Peter Thiel, Founders Fund, Greylock Partners, and other exceptional investors), an enterprise technology company that is inventing a simpler and more transparent consumer lending experience while ensuring broader access for all types of borrowers.
Previously, Clement was the Product Manager for the Customer Relationship Management Platform at Movoto Real Estate, which is the second largest online real estate brokerage in the U.S. and the only one licensed in all 50 U.S. states. There, he led the technical implementation of multiple strategic initiatives, such as a new business model that now makes more than half of Movoto’s annual revenue, a new strategic partnership worth millions in annual revenue, and a new internal technology stack.
Clement started his career as a Business Consultant at Applied Predictive Technologies, which is a leading analytics software company that was acquired by MasterCard. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a double major in Business Administration and Molecular & Cell Biology.
Kevin Lee is a Co-Founder of Product Manager HQ. He was previously a Principal Investor at Pear Ventures where he invested in and partnered with early-stage founders to help them build the foundations of category-defining companies. He was previously a Venture Investor at FundersClub (YCS12), an early-stage VC that has invested / been shareholders in companies like Instacart, Slack, Coinbase, Gitlab, Shippo, Memebox, Rappi, Flexport, RainforestQA, etc… He has previously worked as a Product Manager at AltSchool (backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, First Round Capital, Mark Zuckerberg, John Doerr and other exceptional investors). Previously, he was a Senior Product Manager at Kabam (acquired by NetMarble and Fox for a combined $1bn+), where he worked on products through all lifecycles in San Francisco, Vancouver, and Beijing and helped grow one of the company’s products to become the third largest revenue generating product in the company portfolio. In a former life, he worked in Technology Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch. He is also the author / co-author on 10+ gaming patents.
He has previously taught at UC Berkeley, mentored visiting entrepreneurs at the Haas School of Business, and taught at Product School. He has also advised startups at FactoryX, run by GoogleX co-founder Tom Chi. His writing has been featured in Inc. and he is the co-author of an Amazon best-selling book about Quora (Featured as #1 on Product Hunt Books). He has previously been involved in the non-profit space, as a Director of Business Development at Bayes Impact (a Y-Combinator backed non-profit deploying data science teams to work on social/civic issues) and on the Board of Directors of the SF Creative Arts Charter School and early literacy non-profit, Tandem.
Allie Fisher is the Community Manager at Product Manager HQ. Allie helps to run and moderate the Product Manager HQ Community alongside other operating responsibilities that help to keep the lights on here at PMHQ.
Allie has experience as a marketing strategist running and launching marketing campaigns for clients across various industries.
Fernando Delgado is an Advisor for Product Manager HQ. Previously, he was a Senior Director of Product Management at Yahoo in the Mobile organization. At Yahoo, he co-founded and co-led the Associate Product Manager program. He was also a member of Yahoo’s PM and Design hiring committee where he helped make final recommendations to CEO Marissa Mayer on every PM / Design offer.
He also put together and led a team that launched Yahoo’s homepage app, which reached the #1 spot in the News category on both Android and iOS and sustained that ranking for ~6 months. He then joined the Yahoo Mail App team and shipped the biggest refresh of the app in years. It reached the #5 spot of all iOS free apps in 2015.
Before Yahoo, he was a Product Manager at Google for 5 years where he had the opportunity to contribute to various features and launches of Web Search (google.com), Google Maps, Voice Search, Android and Google+ Local. He has interviewed over 300 prospective Product Managers in his career at Google & Yahoo and he is currently a Product Manager coach and consultant.
Benjamin Tseng is an Advisor for Product Manager HQ. He is currently a Principal at 1955 Capital, a venture firm focused on investing in technologies from the developed world that can help solve the developing world’s greatest challenges in areas like energy, food, agriculture, health, education, and manufacturing.
Previously, Benjamin was the Vice President of Product and Business Development for Yik Yak, a venture-backed startup building anonymous, hyperlocal communities for mobile devices which has raised over $70M in venture funding since its inception. As a member of the executive team, his responsibilities included driving the Series B fundraising (culminating in a $60M+ financing), guiding product roadmap / implementation, building and managing team of PMs, designers, and UX researchers supporting all product and systems development within company, and handling all partnership conversations and execution (including those with University of Florida, MTV, Comedy Central, and Bleacher Report).
Prior to Yik Yak, Benjamin was a Vice President at DCM, a leading venture fund managing over $2.8B in assets. His focus areas included frontier technologies, technology infrastructure, connected platforms, and new models for healthcare, and he worked actively with management teams at DCM companies including Whistle, Yik Yak, FreedomPop, Exablox, Enovix, 1Mainstream, Augmedix, Athos, and Rayvio.
Benjamin began his career at Bain & Company in the Bay Area after graduating Phi Beta Kappa with Highest Honors in Biochemical Sciences and a minor in Mathematical Sciences from Harvard University. Benjamin is also a mentor for the Thiel “20 Under 20” Fellowship as well as an advisor to a number of startups including Dextro and Bayes Impact.
